After a town hall meeting Tuesday night, the Plainview Main Street Task Force members are continuing to push the survey regarding an alcohol variance to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages downtown. Member and Grumpy’s Grill Owner Beverly McCaskill says the goal is to help the growth of downtown.
Citizens have through July 31 to complete the survey. It can be found via the city’s website at plainviewtx.org under headlines. A paper copy is also available at the Main Street office at 717 Broadway. Currently, alcohol cannot be sold within 300 feet of a church or place or worship or within 1,000 feet of a school.
