Well, you had a feeling that Big Ben Catley had something up his sleeve when he took the ALS #IceBucketChallenge … and he certainly did. In more ways than one.
Ben will be donating money to the Texas Chapter of the ALS to help those in the Lone Star State fight Lou Gherig’s Disease. He also is making a donation to the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research as well as the Epilepsy Association of Montana, in honor of Michael Ellis, a friend of Ben’s who lost his battle with the disease last winter.
However, that was not all … after challenging his oldest brother and a few of his former Pioneer Baseball League broadcasters, he then challenged the one and only Larry McNutt. And, as you can see from the video, LarryMac accepted the challenge.
If you’d like to help the charge to Strike Out ALS, visit the Texas Chapter here. The other two charities Ben is donating to:
V Foundation for Cancer Research
Epilepsy Association of Montana
As of August 22, more than $50 million has been raised by the ALS Association.
